Indianapolis Woman Dies After Being Ejected in Early Morning Crash; Man Hospitalized

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (DDN) – On Sunday morning, a woman was killed in a single-car crash on the east side of Indianapolis. An investigation is currently in progress.

Officers were dispatched to the 8800 block of East 10th Street in response to a report of a single-vehicle accident. This occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m., according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

According to the police, they came to find a male still inside a car and a woman who had been tossed out of it. The woman who was flung from the automobile was brought to a nearby hospital in severe condition, but she eventually died from her injuries.

According to the police, the male driver was able to exit the vehicle and was then sent to the hospital. He was said to be “awake and breathing.”

A preliminary examination into the deadly incident shows that the car was driving eastward on East 10th Street when it hit a power post, forcing it to flip back across the roadway.

According to the police, the individual who survived the crash will have his blood drawn as part of the inquiry.

The inquiry into the incident is still ongoing.
