Fatal Crash in Washington County Kills 17-Year-Old, Injures Another Driver

WOODBURY, Minn. (DDN) – A tragic incident occurred Friday afternoon, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old following a vehicle collision, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Stagecoach Trail North and 10th Street North in West Lakeland Township shortly after 4 p.m., as stated by the sheriff’s office.

Upon reaching the location, deputies discovered that one of the drivers, 17-year-old Elizabeth “Libby” Radecki from Woodbury, was suffering from severe injuries that posed a significant threat to her life.

Despite efforts to save her, the sheriff’s office confirmed that Radecki succumbed to her injuries.

While St. Croix Prep Academy in Stillwater was unable to verify Radecki’s enrollment, they did issue the following statement:

“It is with great sadness we are confirming that a St. Croix Prep Upper School student died in a fatal car accident on February 14, 2025. We are grieving as a community and offer our deepest sympathies and condolences to the family. Out of respect for their privacy, we are withholding further details. This is a tragic event, filled with pain and grief. It is time for us to support the family and protect our learning environment so it can continue to mourn and heal.”

The other vehicle’s driver was transported to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. No additional passengers were part of the incident.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing, with indications that weather-affected roads may have contributed to the incident.
