Two Middle-Aged Individual Dead after Fatal Crash in Detroit; Several Injured in Pile-up

DETROIT, Mich. (DDN) – Michigan State Police said that two persons were killed in a four-car crash on I-75 in Detroit on Sunday afternoon.

It occurred near Mack Avenue about 3 p.m. on February 23.

According to police, a 58-year-old female driver of a Ford Crown Victoria with one passenger collided with a Chevy Traverse with three occupants, driving the Chevy into a Kia Telluride with four occupants. The Kia then collided with a Jeep Wrangler, which had one occupant.

According to authorities, the at-fault driver failed to brake before the incident.

A 50-year-old Novi man who was a passenger in the Ford was pronounced deceased on the scene, according to a news release.

A 56-year-old Farmington Hills lady, who was a passenger in the Kia, was also pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the announcement.

According to police, numerous more had minor injuries.

Police intend to send the investigators’ report to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office for evaluation.

“It is important for all drivers to remember that every time they get behind the wheel, they are not only responsible for themselves and their passengers, but also for others that they share the road with,” stated First Lt. Mike Shaw in the release. “Driving requires all of our attention, all of the time. Driving conditions can change in a split second, and if drivers are not paying attention, it can be deadly.”
