Ohio Authorities Rescue Four Trafficking Victims, Two Houston Men Nabbed

Two men from the Houston area, believed to be involved in human trafficking, were apprehended in central Ohio after authorities located them with four victims, one of whom was a minor, as reported by Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost.

On March 13, the FBI’s Houston office and the Texas Department of Public Safety reached out to the Central Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force regarding the juvenile victim, whom investigators suspected was in Columbus.

Acting swiftly, the task force collaborated with the Columbus Division of Police’s PACT Unit to initiate a search. That same evening, law enforcement arrested 27-year-old Timarrea Granderson from Cypress, Texas, who was discovered in the company of one of the victims. A few hours later, authorities traced 26-year-old Larry Hill of Houston to a residence on West Kanawha Avenue in Columbus.

Hill barricaded himself inside the home, prompting intervention by the Columbus Police Division’s SWAT team and the Sharon Township Police Department. This effort led to the rescue of two more victims from the property.

A fourth victim was later found and safely retrieved from a different location in the area. Granderson and Hill are now facing charges in Texas, including trafficking of a person and compelling prostitution of a minor, and both await extradition to their home state.

The four victims, all residents of Texas, are currently under the care of the Central Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force, which is providing them with necessary support and services as the case progresses.
