A woman passed away after a car accident involving just her vehicle in Madera County. The crash took place a little before 12:30 p.m. on Monday near the intersection of Avenue 17 and Road 28 1/2. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 29-year-old woman was driving with her baby boy, who is less than a year old, seated in the back.
For reasons that aren’t clear yet, her car veered off the road and hit a barbed wire fence and a wooden post. The patrol reported that the wooden post broke through the windshield and struck the woman, causing her death. Her baby was taken to Valley Children’s Hospital to be checked by doctors.

Officers noted that it was raining when the accident happened, but they haven’t determined if the weather played a role in what occurred. The investigation is still underway to figure out why the crash happened.
