Fall River Police have made an arrest on several firearm related charges.
According to police, on Thursday, members of the Fall River Police Department’s Gang Unit (C.A.S.T.), with the support of the Emergency Services Unit (ESU), executed a search warrant on a residence on the 1500 Block of Rodman Street. The target of the investigation was 23-year-old Jazer Hernandez Vergara.
During the search, detectives recovered a Glock 26 9mm handgun loaded with six rounds of ammunition from within the residence. Due to his prior firearm-related convictions Jazer Hernandez Vergara was ineligible to obtain a license to carry. This resulted in his arrest.
He was charged with Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, and Possession of a Firearm with Two Prior Violent/Drug Crime Convictions.
According to court records, at Friday’s arraignment, Hernandez Vergara was ordered held without bail pending completion of a dangerous hearing.
