Adult, teen arrested for alleged car thefts in Chesterfield Township, Michigan

(CBS DETROIT)In relation to suspected auto thefts in Chesterfield Township, a 17-year-old boy and an adult male were taken into custody on Friday.

Police were called to a neighborhood around 24 Mile and Sass roads at around three in the morning on Friday for a car break-in, and they found the suspects in a stolen car. According to police, the driver, a 22-year-old Detroit resident, crashed the vehicle after escaping during a traffic stop.

The motorist was transported to the hospital after suffering injuries. The Wyandotte teenager, 17, fled from the police and was taken into custody.

Authorities said that after pursuing a second car that ran away from the site, the pursuit came to a stop. Chesterfield Township police said the car then collided on westbound Interstate 94 close to Harper Avenue.

There is an investigation going on.
