DDN – A well-known Detroit brewer is closing its taproom after more than a decade.
Brew Detroit, a Corktown beer staple since 2014, plans to close its taproom at the end of January.
“It has been our honor and privilege to serve the Corktown and Detroit community for the last decade,” they wrote in a Facebook post announcing the decision.
After the taproom closes, the brewer plans to focus on beer production and distribution.
“When Brew Detroit originally opened for contract brewing operations in 2014, it was based on the principle of collaboration: to help local breweries in an emerging craft beer market. When we opened our Taproom in 2015, we wanted to offer a choice of outstanding beers.
What we discovered was community, thanks to the exceptional people who chose to fill our space and collaborate with us over the years.”
