The collision and spill that occurred on an Amazon truck on Monday morning caused two lanes of the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway to be closed at Ditman Avenue in East Los Angeles for a number of hours.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident that occurred at 6:30 in the morning involved at least four other automobiles.
Due to the fact that the back end of the delivery truck had been damaged, the packages were thrown around on the side embankment and on the freeway.
There was a blockage of the No. 4 and 5 lanes for a number of hours, and they were not restored until almost eleven in the morning.
A crane was utilized by the crews in order to straighten out the truck, clean up the area, and clear it. There is currently no information available regarding the cause of the accident or whether or not any people were hurt.
In addition, the 710 Freeway and the northbound 5 Freeway experienced disruptions in their traffic flow in the vicinity.
