Ann Arbor Police Department is currently investigating a road rage incident that escalated into violence early Wednesday morning. The altercation took place at approximately 1 a.m. at the intersection of Main and Madison streets. According to the victim’s report, as per

, they were stopped at a flashing yellow light behind a vehicle that was not proceeding. The victim alleges to have then made an “offensive hand gesture” towards the other driver.
What ensued next was a sharp turn to violence, with the other driver exiting their vehicle to forcibly remove the victim from their seat. The driver then “removed the victim from their seat, punched them in the face, and threatened them with what the victim believed was a handgun,”
