Annapolis’ Ceremony Coffee Roasters Joins Kansas City’s FairWave Collective Post-Acquisition

Annapolis’ homegrown coffee brand, Ceremony Coffee Roasters, has recently become part of Kansas City, Missouri’s FairWave Specialty Coffee Collective following an acquisition deal concluded in late October. According to an Eye on Annapolis report, the 22-year-old company, which operates six locations across Maryland, will join a cohort of specialty brands under the FairWave umbrella, marking its first foray into the Maryland market.

Despite a change of hands, Ceremony Coffee’s local spirit is intended to remain intact. Founder Vincent Iatesta will continue to lead the company, ensuring that the brand’s essence is preserved under the new ownership. WBAL-TV reported that Iatesta emphasized that “the essence of Ceremony will look and feel the same” in the post-acquisition phase. The FairWave acquisition extends its reach, adding six more to its collection of coffee locales, now totaling eleven diverse brands poised for sustained growth and community engagement.

Ceremony Coffee Roasters has built a name since its inception in 2002. It has locations in Baltimore’s Federal Hill, Harbor Point, and Bethesda, among other locations. The deal enables Ceremony to leverage FairWave’s repertoire of resources and specialty coffee industry expertise while keeping its team of approximately 85 members employed. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, with Ceremony opting to keep that business decision confidential.
