A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed in Mott Haven, Bronx. The victim, identified as Xavier Navarez, was gunned down multiple times in the back on Oak Terrace near Beekman Ave, a mere two blocks from his residence, around 7:45 p.m. yesterday, according to a report by

Emergency services transported Xavier to Lincoln Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The incident occurred near the site where a teen was killed last year and an 8-year-old boy was wounded in a separate shooting the previous year on Beekman Ave,

reported, police have no suspects and the motive behind this latest shooting remains unknown.
The location is notable, as it is near the block where 17-year-old Jordany Aracena, an aspiring drill rapper, was fatally shot on September 25, 2022. At the time, police sources indicated that the shooting may have been a retaliatory act related to his music. A peer of Aracena’s age was later apprehended in connection with the incident.
Authorities continue their investigation and are asking anyone with information to come forward to help prevent further violence in the Oak Terrace area.
