Arizona Man Arrested in Riverside County Sting for Alleged Sexual Misconduct with a Minor

Jason Sjullie, 43, of Arizona, was arrested by authorities for allegedly trying to have sex with a juvenile. On November 18, 2024, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department launched an undercover operation using the Perris Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team after reporting that deputies had impersonated a 13-year-old girl online. Sjullie allegedly indicated interest in meeting the decoy to engage in sexual activity during this sting.

The interaction lasted for two days before Sjullie was arrested on November 19, 2024, when he came to meet the person he thought was the minor girl, according to the Riverside Sheriff’s Department’s official announcement. He was swiftly taken into custody by the deputies, who made sure to completely eliminate the possibility of any more offenses.

Sjullie is currently facing accusations for attempting indecent activities with a minor, contacting a kid with the intention of committing sexual offenses, and setting up a meeting with a minor with the aim to conduct sexual acts. Given the seriousness of the charges against him, he was put into the Cois Byrd Detention Center with a stiff $1,000,000 bond. The Riverside Sheriff’s Department has emphasized that there are currently no upcoming details and that the investigation is still active and ongoing.

The Media Information Bureau has been designated as the point of contact for media questions or additional information about Jason Sjullie’s capture or related occurrences. Law enforcement spokespersons warn the public that confidentiality will be upheld and that any information could be vital.
