DETROIT – On Saturday, March 20th, Detroit was in a good mood as the first steps towards building the new Detroit Community Center were taken.

Contractors, suppliers, civil servants, local residents and owners gathered to begin construction on the new building.

The community center will replace Detroit City Hall and become the focal point of a community that was largely destroyed in a forest fire in September 2020.

The SEDCOR Construction Alliance helped organize the Santiam Rebuild Coalition, led by Salem builder Rich Duncan of Rich Duncan Construction, to involve contractors and suppliers in contributing to the project.
