The quiet of an Attleborough neighborhood was pierced by gunfire on Saturday afternoon, leaving residents shaken and a 58-year-old man injured. The Attleborough Police Department, seeking to maintain public safety, has now confirmed they are in pursuit of a suspect deemed ‘armed and dangerous.’ According to information provided toNBC Boston, police are searching for 33-year-old Jason Lacourse, who they believe is connected to the violent incident on Oakland Avenue.

As reported byWCVB, the suspect, also identified as Jacob Lacourse, is described as a white male, around 40 years old, with a distinctive shaved head. Eyewitnesses saw him last in a hooded sweatshirt adorned with “BOSTON” and gray sweatpants, possibly carrying a black or gray backpack. Suffered from gunshot wounds, the victim, after being swiftly attended by law enforcement, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

An intensive investigation, swiftly launched in response to the crime, has culminated in a warrant issued by the Attleborough District Court for Lacourse’s arrest pertaining to the shooting. Residents are instructed by police for avoiding any contact with him, and to immediately call local police or 911 if he is sighted. Two photos of Lacourse have also been released by the authorities to help the public recognize him.

Lacourse, who police indicated has known connections residing in both Attleborough and Pawtucket, Rhode Island, has now become the subject of a regional manhunt.
