Austin Police Seek Public Help to Identify Person of Interest in Rutland Drive Homicide Case

In connection with a recent killing on Rutland Drive, the Austin Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying a person of interest. The person is described as a Hispanic male in his late 20s to early 30s, height between 5’8″ and 5’10”, weighing between 240 and 260 pounds, according to an APD news release. The man has a goatee and mustache, and his hair is long and dark. When the APD responded to a shooting at a home in the 1900 block of Rutland Drive early on November 16, the incident that sparked the homicide investigation began. In relation to the incident, 36-year-old Hispanic man Noah Mata, who lived in the flat next door, was first taken into custody and then arrested.

Mata is currently being jailed at the Travis County jail after being charged with first-degree aggravated robbery.
