Looking ahead to Monday, showers and a possible thunderstorm are expected before 9am, followed by likely showers between 9am and noon. The day’s high is forecasted to be around 79 degrees with a south wind transitioning to west in the afternoon. Gusts could once again reach up to 35 mph, and the chance of precipitation remains high at 90%. TheNWSanticipates new precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch.

However, the weather is expected to take a turn by Monday night, paving the way for clear skies and a low around 53 degrees. The wind will shift to the west at around 5 mph, eventually becoming calm by the evening. As the week progresses, Austinites can look forward to sunny days with highs ranging from 69 to 81 degrees, and lows in the crisp 40s and 50s. Apart from Tuesday’s northwest wind of 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph, the prevailing winds for the rest of the week are expected to be mild.
