Baltimore Man Charged with First-Degree Murder in South Paca Street Homicide

The Baltimore Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in a homicide case from earlier this year. According to a social media post by the Baltimore Police, Damion Thomas, 44, from Baltimore, is in custody for the alleged murder of 37-year-old Brian Nesbitt. The deadly incident took place on the 800 block of South Paca Street on August 21.

Thomas was arrested at the Southern District police station on October 28 and is now charged with first-degree murder. Although details of his arrest are limited, evidence placed him at the center of the case. He is currently held at the Central Booking Intake Facility.

The original incident shook the local community when it took place. Officers had responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 12:25 p.m. On arrival at the scene, they found Nesbitt with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite prompt medical intervention, Nesbitt was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to a hospital.

Meanwhile, the Baltimore Police Department encourages anyone with more information to come forward, ensuring informers’ anonymity through the Metro Crime Stoppers website and text tip service.
