A 24-year-old lady in Bartow lost her life in a sad mishap after she collided her SUV with a semi-truck, injuring her young daughter. The collision happened yesterday near the intersection of Ernest Smith Boulevard and US Highway 17 at approximately 9:30 p.m. According to WTSP, the woman struck the back of a 2019 Freightliner semi-truck while operating a 2013 Honda CRV after failing to stop at a red light.
It was thought that the 2-year-old daughter, who was in the passenger seat at the time of the collision, had sustained minor injuries. According to WTSP, the mom and her kid had to be removed from the SUV after the collision, which caused the car to spin 90 degrees and stop in a turn lane. After being taken to the hospital by the Polk County Fire Rescue crew, the mother passed away from her injuries.
