Bellevue’s green-thumbed residents are in for a treat. TheCity of Bellevueis now accepting applications for a free Naturalist training program to equip volunteers with the know-how to protect and preserve the local environment. Geared towards sparking stewardship and ecological awareness, the initiative invites those who love learning and the great outdoors to step forward. Preference will be given to Bellevue. However, space might be opened to outsiders if not filled.
The training, a mix of classroom and field experience, is scheduled from February 6 to April 29, 2025. It will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8 p.m., and Saturday outings will complement the in-class sessions, broadening the student’s exposure to real-world conservation scenarios. Participants are then expected to dedicate a minimum of 100 service hours back to Bellevue’s natural landscapes.
Those ready to commit to the cause and enrich their environmental literacy can submit their applications through an online form. The deadline for this opportunity, which potentially forges the path for local citizens to positively impact their environment, is Saturday, November 30.
