Bensalem Man Pleads Guilty to Fatal DUI Crash that Killed Connecticut Couple

A guy acknowledged yesterday that he was the cause of a traffic accident earlier this year that killed a Connecticut vacationing couple. According to the Bucks County government’s official update, 32-year-old John Thomas Wadlinger Jr. of Bensalem entered a guilty plea to a number of counts related to the February crash.

Twenty counts, including two counts of homicide by car while under the influence of alcohol and two counts of homicide by vehicle, were included in the plea, which was entered before Common Pleas Judge C. Theodore Fritsch, Jr. Since the plea, the judge has postponed sentencing for 60 days and requested a pre-sentence investigation. The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, Bristol Township Police Department, and Plumstead Township Police Department conducted a collaborative investigation that produced a wealth of evidence against Wadlinger, which is supported by his prompt acknowledgment of guilt.

Wadlinger was under the influence of amphetamine and methamphetamine at the time of the occurrence, according to the inquiry. He is accused of speeding through a Bristol Township traffic intersection on February 24 and colliding with the cars of Rebecca Whiddon, 33, and Richard Whiddon, 37. Both members of the Brooklyn, Connecticut-based couple were declared dead at the scene.
