Boca Raton Woman Charged with Aggravated Battery After Allegedly Striking Boyfriend with Car

A Boca Raton woman has been ensnared by law enforcement once again, this time charged with using a vehicle to assault her boyfriend in a violent hit-and-run incident. Patricia G. Habe, 44, found herself at the heart of a domestic dispute that escalated to physical harm. The Boca Raton Police Department attended a call late Sunday night—a domestic disturbance at the Fairfield at Boca neighborhood—where they discovered a man who had injuries consistent with being struck by a car.

During a subsequent hospital interview, as reported by

, the victim revealed that the argument began at El Camino, a local restaurant, and was followed by a series of confrontations that culminated in a physical altercation. He claimed that after a dispute over a prolonged bathroom break, which he believed involved infidelity, things took a dire turn upon their departure from the eatery. It’s alleged that Habe used her black Range Rover as a weapon, initially attempting to hit him as he approached the gate of the neighborhood, then succeeding in a second attempt that left him unconscious in the bushes.

The charges detailed by police include aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and failure to remain at the crash scene involving serious bodily injury. Habe reportedly sought to obscure her involvement in the incident by parking her damaged vehicle in the driveway of another residence. According to investigators, evidence at the scene and the damage to Habe’s vehicle were consistent with the allegations. This is not Habe’s first brush with the law concerning domestic incidents. According to

, an occurrence in August resulted in an arrest for stabbing the same victim during another dispute.

Habe was taken into custody and her bond was set at $65,000. Amidst the ongoing investigation, the court has mandated that she maintains no contact with the victim. The severity of the boyfriend’s injuries, which include multiple fractures and internal bleeding, underscores the violent nature of the attack. “He allegedly left the restaurant with Habe’s phone because he was so upset with her,” per the affidavit obtained by
