Bold Rescue in Revere, Good Samaritans Save Driver from Flaming Wreckage on Beach Boulevard

Overnight in Revere, Massachusetts, a speeding car collided with a wall on Revere Beach Boulevard and became engulfed in flames at around 3 a.m., with the driver trapped inside the burning vehicle before several Good Samaritans came to the rescue, an event that was captured on camera, according toNBC10 Boston.

The Revere Fire Department found the vehicle on fire after it crashed into a stone wall, the department confirming that the driver sustained non-fatal injuries and one of the rescuers was treated for burns but both are expected to recover, while a woman involved in the rescue efforts recounted spraying the car with a water hose and her brother and another man breaking the car’s window to free the driver adding “We went downstairs to help because the car was just on fire, We thought the car was going to explode,” as she toldNBC10 Boston.

Another local report fromWCVBhighlighted that neighbors who witnessed the incident wasted no time, with one saying, “We didn’t think twice about what we were going to do, The fire was just eating the car.”

The collective quick thinking and action included the usage of a hose, a dumbbell to smash the window, and scissors to cut the seatbelt to save the trapped individual, such teamwork between family members and an unknown neighbor was driven by the single goal to “get him out alive,” the young woman underscored in a statement toWCVB, “Because if we leave him for another five or 10 minutes, he would’ve died,” and after extricating the driver, she stated, “I’m CPR certified, so once they put him on the ground, I made sure he’s breathing, his pulse is normal.”
