Bridgewater man facing drug and other charges after allegedly fleeing crash scene

EAST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Michael Jenkins reports that the East Bridgewater Police Department arrested a man on operating under the influence of drugs and drug possession charges following a crash on Wednesday.

At just after 6:45 p.m., East Bridgewater Police responded to the area of 191 Church St. for a report of a single-vehicle crash in which the vehicle fled the scene.

Officers responded to the area and located a vehicle parked on a nearby access road that matched the description of the one that had fled. The car was missing a part of the front grille, which matched a piece of plastic found at the scene, where officers also noticed tire tracks on the front lawn of a home.

Officers identified the driver of the vehicle as 43-year-old Sean Black Cashin of Bridgewater.

An on-scene investigation revealed that Cashin had allegedly been driving under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident. During a search of the vehicle, officers located 4 grams of a white powdery substance suspected to be Fentanyl, 20 Oxymetholone pills, two vials of anabolic steroids and 15 Gabapentin pills.

Cashin was arrested and charged with Operating Under the Influence of Drugs, Possession of a Class A Drug, Possession of a Class E Drug (Four Counts), Leaving the Scene of Property Damage, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Marked Lanes Violation.

Cashin is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Brockton District Court.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
