Broward County residents in the Roosevelt Gardens neighborhood can expect to see some construction activity in the coming months, as the Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division starts work on improving the area’s drainage system. Scheduled to commence on Monday, the project includes cleaning, inspection, and minor repairs to the drainage infrastructure and is anticipated to wrap up by May 2025, weather permitting.

The work will primarily focus on interior streets and should pose minimal disruption to daily life in the community. However, during the more intensive phases of the project on NW 31st Avenue and NW 27th Avenue, “one lane will be closed to vehicular traffic during off-peak traffic hours, 9AM – 4PM,” according to a notice by

. Despite these closures, at least one lane will, be open to facilitate regular traffic flow.

Funding for this endeavor comes from the Transportation Surtax, illustrating the county’s commitment to maintaining and improving necessary public infrastructure.
