Bus Crashes Into Telephone Pole in Tyrone Township, Five Adolescents Hospitalized With Minor Injuries

ADAMS COUNTY, PA. (DDN) – Five adolescents were rushed to the hospital following a bus accident in Tyrone Township on Tuesday.

The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on the 700 block of Tapeworm Road, according to a Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) announcement.

The truck was driving southward when it encountered a curve in the road. Due to road conditions, it was unable to make the turn and slid over the side of the road, according to the announcement.

The bus then collided with a telephone pole on its passenger side before coming to a stop.

All five children on board were taken to nearby hospitals due to their injuries.

The Heidlersburg Fire Department responded to the incident, as did Adams County Regional EMS and UPMC Life Team EMS.

According to PSP, all of the youngsters who were carried to the hospital had minor injuries.

Their parents were alerted on-scene.

The vehicle incurred crippling damage on its passenger side and was hauled from the scene since it did not pose a hazard to the roadway.
