California Cities Rank Among Top U.S. Rodent Hotspots, According to Pest Control Experts

Major American cities, especially the largest ones, are commonly home to rats and mice because they have easy access to food and plenty of space.

According to Terminix, a national termination service, rodent populations are frequent in cities due to food availability and good hygiene standards. Even though they are tiny, they can soon grow into a problem since they can seriously harm property and raise issues with public health.

In response to this harm, Terminix investigated which of its 300 locations provided the greatest rodent control services in 2023.

Top US cities with a rodent infestation

New York City was the most commonly used city for rodent control services in 2023 out of the 50 largest cities that required the greatest services in the authorized areas. Los Angeles was in second place, followed by the San Francisco Bay Area. Metro Sacramento came in at number twelve.

The pest control firm claims that it is difficult to stay away from rats and mice in cities because most rodent populations are drawn to areas with high population density, easy-to-access food, and temperate conditions.

Signs That Your House is Home to Rats

Should you reside in or close to any of these rodent-infested cities, you might want to look about your house for indications of possible mouse intruders.
