Beginning on January 1, 2018, in the state of California, workers who earn the minimum wage will receive a salary increase.

The Labor Commissioner’s Office has stated that the state’s base pay will increase from $16 to $16.50 per hour.

This increase will take effect immediately. On the other hand, this rate will be exceeded by some cities in the Golden State, leading to wages that are much higher than they now are.

Among the notable gains are Mountain View, which now stands at $19.20, Sunnyvale, which is at $19, and West Hollywood, which is at the top of the list at $19.65.

Redwood City, Palo Alto, and Santa Clara are among the other communities that will establish their rates at $18.20.

The purpose of these modifications is to address the high cost of living throughout the state of California.

Furthermore, they are designed to ensure that workers in places such as San Diego, Oakland, and San Jose receive wage increases that are specifically customized to their areas.
