DDN – According to the authorities, a car accident that occurred on Wednesday morning in North Miami Beach and involved a Brightline train resulted in the injury of at least one individual for the incident.
At approximately ten o’clock in the morning, the collision took place at the intersection of Northeast 163rd Street and Biscayne Boulevard. Chopper 4 was able to catch glimpses of a black automobile that had its back smashed in, as well as the Brightline train that was involved in coming to a stop with damage to its front end.
CBS News Miami was informed by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue that at least one individual has been sent to the hospital; however, the details regarding the severity of their injuries were not disclosed.
The events leading up to the collision are captured on video that was uploaded to the social media account ONLYinDADE. The video shows what appears to be the black car driving across the tracks when the guardrails were down and the warning lights were blinking just before the collision.
The police were observed rerouting traffic on Biscayne Avenue in the northbound direction and on NE 163rd Street in the eastbound direction. During their inquiry, the North Miami Beach Police Department requested that motorists look for alternative routes.
Brightline has been contacted by CBS News Miami for comment, and the police have been contacted for additional information regarding the collision.
