Casa Grande Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Enticement of a Minor, Lifetime Supervision to Follow

A Casa Grande man has been handed a decade-long sentence for a serious offense against a child. Adam Tovar, 32, will spend 10 years in federal prison following a conviction for enticement of a minor. United States District Judge Raner C. Collins issued the sentence on October 22 and ordered that Tovar’s time behind bars be followed by a lifetime of supervised release. He is further required to register as a sex offender upon his release, as detailed in a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Arizona.

Throughout late December of the previous year, Tovar engaged in communication with a minor via Snapchat, an act which he fully knew to be wrong. He persuaded, induced, and enticed the minor to agree to engage in sexual activities. On December 29, during a routine traffic stop, law enforcement officials detained Tovar, who was discovered to be transporting the minor. In a guilty plea dated June 17, Tovar admitted to planning to transport the victim from home to a local hotel to engage in sexual acts, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Arizona.

The investigation into Tovar’s actions was led by Homeland Security Investigations. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Nathaniel J. Walters and Sarah J. Precup oversaw the prosecution. Tovar’s sentence is the direct result of this careful investigation and the critical work of law enforcement in Marana. The official case number associated with Tovar’s sentencing is CR-23-00621-TUC-RCC, as outlined in the release number 2024-151_Tovar.
