U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers recently reported a significant drug bust at the Progreso Port of Entry, where 35 pounds of cocaine with a street value estimated at nearly half a million dollars were discovered concealed within a vehicle. As noted byCBS Austin, the narcotics were found on November 11 during a secondary inspection of a 2013 Dodge.

The operation resulted in the extraction of 14 packages that tested positive for cocaine, the collective weight amounting to 35 pounds and an estimated street value of “$468,302,” this being a drug seizure that highlights the ongoing challenges and successes on the battle against illicit substance trafficking at national borders, and during the inspection, agents utilized technology and strategies designed to interfere with such illegal activities, thus demonstrating an enduring commitment to community safety and border integrity.
