In his role, Maverik joins a line-up of five other dual-purpose police dogs named Six, Siege, Havok, Leo, and Rip, who share responsibilities that span a spectrum from tracking suspects, conducting building searches, to narcotics detection, with Rip also specialized in explosives detection – functions critical to the law enforcement fabric of the city.
