Residents of Chester County who have yet to verify their ID for mail-in ballots, or those who cast a provisional ballot due to insufficient ID on Election Day, are running up on a deadline. Per an announcement by
Chester County
, individuals have until 4:30 p.m. next Monday, November 11, to confirm their identity, which can be done in person or over the phone.
In a necessity dictated by ensuring a fair electoral process, the county office will be open for extended hours. For in-person ID verification, citizens can head to the Chester County Voter Services Office at 601 Westtown Road, Suite 150, West Chester.
The office is set to welcome voters today until 4:30 p.m. and, in a rare move due to the holiday, will also open on Veterans Day from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ID verification can also be completed over the telephone by calling 610-344-6410, as a part of the services designed to accommodate potential voters from a distance.
The county’s service offers an alternative for those who prefer the convenience of telephonic verification or may be deterred by in-person interactions. The Voter Services Office has not provided specific information on the volume of unverified IDs or how this compares to previous years. Still, their dedication to voter assistance remains clear by the extension of their schedule.
