A Chicago man has been formally charged in connection with two armed robberies that occurred earlier this month, according to police sources. Trinity Mintz, 22, of the 5600 block of S. Emerald, is facing two felony counts of armed robbery, one felony count of receiving, possessing, or selling a stolen vehicle, and one felony count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon/loaded firearm without a concealed carry license or Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card. Mintz was apprehended yesterday, after being identified as the alleged perpetrator who, on November 6, robbed two men at gunpoint in the 2900 block of W. 63rd St. Police reports indicate that a 49-year-old male and a 60-year-old male were the victims in these incidents. During his arrest in the 2200 block of S. Wentworth, officers discovered Mintz inside one of the victim’s stolen vehicles and proceeded to quickly recover a weapon.

The alleged offender was taken into custody without further incident and the charges were soon filed against him. As a result of the evidence and the subsequent investigation, a warrant was issued for his arrest. He is now scheduled for a detention hearing at the courthouse located at 2600 S. California.

Despite the severity of the crimes Mintz is accused of, no additional information concerning the cases or the upcoming court procedures has been publicly shared to date.
