A series of commercial burglaries have hit Chicago’s Norwood Park, Union Ridge, Portage Park, Irving Park, Jefferson Park, and Bucktown neighborhoods. has issued an alert notifying the community of the recent break-ins and the modus operandi of the suspects.

The burglaries occurred in rapid succession on November 10 and 11, 2024, with incidents reported as early as 3:05 a.m. and the latest at 4:50 a.m. Notable locations include the 5300 block of N. Cumberland in Norwood Park and the 7000 block of W. Higgins in Union Ridge. Witness descriptions suggest two to three male individuals either white or Hispanic, dressed in dark clothing, utilizing face masks and gloves. They were seen using a silver sedan and a dark-colored sedan, according to surveillance footage. The police are encouraging locals to be proactive by notifying nearby businesses of the threat, securing video evidence when available, and waiting for police response without tampering with crime scenes. “Report suspicious activity immediately,” advises the
