The Chicago Police Department has issued acommunity alertfollowing an alarming increase in armed robberies across several neighborhoods, including Archer Heights, Bronzeville, and Hyde Park. According to the alert, a group of three to six male assailants, often dressed in black or dark clothing and wearing ski masks, have been approaching victims with firearms. The suspects are believed to be fleeing in stolen vehicles, including a black Maserati and a black Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The incidents, which began on October 19th, have involved not only robberies but also physical assault, with victims being pistol-whipped or battered. In one particularly bold case, a victim’s car was stolen and later found abandoned nearby. These crimes have predominantly occurred late at night in neighborhoods such as Gage Park and the South Loop, causing widespread concern among residents.

The most recent robbery took place on November 15th, 2024, at the 4400 block of S. Pulaski Rd, just past midnight. Police describe the offenders as males between the ages of 18 and 25, wearing black ski masks to conceal their identities.

The Chicago Police are urging residents to remain vigilant, avoid confrontation during robberies, and report any suspicious activity or relevant information immediately to authorities.
