Chicago Police Issue Alert after String of Armed Robberies in Austin, Appeal for Public’s Help

Harrison St. on November 11 between 3:30 and 4:08 pm, subsequent incidents followed on the same day at the 5300 block of W. Congress Pkwy at 10:11 am, another robbery on November 12 at the 500 block of S. Lockwood Ave. at about 9:45 pm and the last one recorded on November 14 at 7:31 am on the 400 block of S. The police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect described as a black male, estimated to be between 15 to 25 years of age, weighing around 130 to 170 pounds, and standing approximately between 5’09” and 6’00” tall. He was last seen wearing dark clothing. Community members are urged to note any distinctive features of the offender such as scars, acne, or a limp, and to refrain from physical resistance during an attempted robbery or chasing a suspect, as per theChicago Police Department.
