Chicago Police Seek Information on West Englewood Hit-and-Run Involving Injured Pedestrian

A 63-year-old pedestrian was struck on a crosswalk in the 5700 block of S. Damen Ave., according to a Chicago Police Department warning alerting the public to a dangerous hit-and-run event that happened in the West Englewood area. The official CPD community notice states that the vehicle involved in the crash, a white 2-door pickup truck, was last seen traveling east in the vicinity of 1900–2000 block of W. 57th St. on November 13, 2024, at around 7:45 p.m.

According to the Chicago Police, the suspect vehicle has a tall white tailgate, a massive black bed rack frame, unknown marks close to both front fenders, and unknown items in the truck. The driver of the pickup failed to stop and provide assistance, striking the pedestrian and seriously injuring him before fleeing the scene without disclosing any information.

Anyone with information regarding the hit-and-run is being urged to come forward by the authorities. Community members are urged by the Chicago Police Department to always be mindful of their surroundings and to call 9-1-1 if they have seen a traffic accident.
