As the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) releases its Christmas train and bus timetables, the city of Chicago is once again preparing for joyous travels. Beginning later this month, the Allstate CTA Holiday Train and Bus will begin their 33-year tradition of bringing joy to the city’s transportation system by illuminating commute routines with brilliant lights and seasonal decorations, kicking off the holiday mood.
CTA President Dorval R. Carter, Jr. emphasized the importance of this custom in an announcement. The appeal of Santa Claus on a flatbed train and a festively decorated bus capturing the imagination of residents, young and old alike, is a testament to the goodwill of Chicago and the CTA employees committed to making the holiday experience better for everyone. “We’re proud to continue this cherished holiday tradition that brings joy to riders of all ages,” he said in a press release. Additionally, as a vessel of kindness, the CTA will continue its history of sending food baskets to local charity. The train timetable begins on November 29 on the Green and Orange Lines and ends on December 23 on the Yellow Line.
Dedicated picture sessions with Santa are scheduled on specific times in an effort to make the season even more participatory, giving families and friends the chance to document their holiday adventures. Residents have plenty of time to arrange their transportation with Santa because to the comprehensive train and bus timetables.
The Holiday Bus will also spread cheer along 17 bus routes, the latter of which will be decorated with artwork created by local students from Catalyst Maria Elementary School, showcasing the creativity of Chicago’s youth from kindergarten through eighth grade. The Holiday Train, decked out in its colorful lights, will travel all eight lines. According to a Chicago Sun-Times release, these rolling symbols of joy will also be playing merry music to passengers, completing the Christmas travel ambiance.
The CTA’s official holiday bus tracker will provide real-time information on the holiday bus’s location online for people who are keen to participate in the celebrations and possibly even get a picture with the cheerful man in red. According to aWGN-TV report, everyone who wants to join in the Christmas joy can do so, so don’t pass up the opportunity to be a part of this special Chicago custom. Standard CTA rates apply.
