, the suspects, ages 14 to 16, were caught in the act on Wednesday, with police responding to vehicle break-ins in a parking lot off West 25th Street. The trio has been linked to similar incidents in Ohio City, Battery Park, and the West 25th Street/Shoreway areas.

, officers spotted and pursued a stolen copper/orange Kia. The driver, a 14-year-old male, was later apprehended at a gas station after attempting to evade police, and a firearm was recovered. While apprehensions were made, a 16-year-old and a second 14-year-old suspect fled on foot after one tried to maneuver the Kia but inadvertently reversed into a detective’s car. However, they, too, were shortly after taken into custody.
