Cloudy and Cold Conditions Grip Metro Detroit as Lingering Flurries Persist

The morning began with wind chills in the teens and sporadic flakes flying. The roads may be icy, so proceed with caution.

A few lake-effect snow showers or flurries are expected throughout the day today. Although little to no accumulation is forecast, there may be temporary limitations in visibility.

High temperatures will be limited to either side of 30 degrees. Winds will be blustery today and tomorrow.

Sunset occurs around 5:13 p.m.

Overall, expect overcast and cold weather throughout the end of the week and weekend. A probability of light snow with modest accumulations. Friday morning, generally south of Interstate 96.

Temperatures will plummet through the weekend and into early next week, with morning wind chills falling into the single digits and teens.

We continue to monitor a wintry system that is moving into the region late Sunday into Monday early. However, the most recent statistics show that this low pressure continues to track into Indiana and Ohio. As long as we stay on the system’s north side, our possibilities of accumulation are limited.

If this shifts farther north, the prediction will change significantly. As of today, it appears that our southern communities will just have a few flurries on Monday morning. Still waiting for sledding weather!
