Coastal Flood Advisory Issued for Seattle Area, Minor Flooding Expected Tomorrow Morning

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect for a collection of regions, from Western Whatcom County to Bremerton and Vicinity, warning of minor coastal flooding along shorelines and low-lying areas expected tomorrow morning. According to theNWS advisory, residents should be prepared for potential inundation of approximately 2 feet above ground level around high tide from 4 AM to 10 AM PST.

Travel could be significantly impacted as minor coastal flooding due to tidal overflow may lead to the flooding of parking lots, parks, and roads. While the impacts are predicted to be minor, individuals planning on traveling through the affected areas should anticipate possible delays and are advised not to drive through water of unknown depth or around barricades.

Concurrently, weather forecasts for the region indicate continuous rainfall with a 100% chance starting today and spanning several days into next week. Seattleites can expect rain, with new precipitation amounts ranging from a tenth to a quarter of an inch possible. Temperatures will hover mainly in the upper 40s while the nights will remain cold with lows dipping to the low 40s throughout the week.

As these weather conditions intensify, the advisory recommends taking necessary precautions to protect property vulnerable to flooding. With persistent showers in the forecast and a coastal flood advisory in effect, Seattle and its surrounding areas are preparing for a wet period ahead. Residents are reminded not to drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth and to allow extra travel time due to potential road closures.
