Covenant Presbyterian Church recently held the Cobb County Drug Treatment Court’s fourth annual “Be Grateful” dinner. Participants and their supporters came together to celebrate the recovery’s progress and partake in the joyous occasion. The meal demonstrated the court’s continued dedication to helping people on their path to recovery.
A vibrant game called Singho was played at the recent event by the Cobb County Drug Treatment Court. In this game, participants sang together in a heated competition. As part of the program’s rehabilitation efforts, the game featured rewards such as adult coloring books, thermal mugs, and T-shirts. The incident made clear how crucial community support is to the recovery process. “I am incredibly proud of our participants who work hard every day on their recovery journey,” said Porsha Winfrey, Program Coordinator, in a statement obtained by Cobb County communications, praising the participants for their efforts and progress, pointing out that the shared experience strengthened their recovery journey and brought joy.
Winfrey went on, “Occasions like this enable us to acknowledge the strength and resiliency required to remain on the path to recovery, as well as to celebrate their sober milestones.” According to the official Cobb County website, it was incredibly touching to witness everyone unite, full of excitement, hope, and appreciation for their progress.
