Columbus Teacher Killed in I-270 Crash; Identified after SUV Struck Sedan on Road

COLUMBUS, Oh. (DDN) – On Friday morning, a teacher from the Columbus City Schools district was identified as the individual who passed away as a result of an automobile accident that occurred on Interstate 270.

According to a statement released by the school district, Jared Jackson was a physical education teacher at Winterset and Lincoln Park Elementary School. He “was a dedicated champion for youth,” and his life “was a testament to the power of service and leadership,” as stated in the statement.

Several hours were lost due to the incident, which caused the southbound lanes of US-33 to be closed.

Approximately one minute and forty-seven seconds after receiving a call about the collision, the authorities arrived at the scene, where they discovered that two vehicles were engaged in the collision.

A car is said to have collided with an SUV, which resulted in the SUV colliding with a wall, flipping over, and coming to a stop. Following its further departure off the route, the sedan collided with a tree and came to a stop.

It was reported by the police that the driver of the SUV was taken to Riverside Hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening. He was pronounced dead at the spot.
