Comerica Park to Premiere Heated and Cooled Seats with New Home Plate Club in 2025

The Detroit Tigers have announced that the new Home Plate Club would be added to their Comerica Park stadium as part of a renovation to improve the fan experience. According to The Detroit News, this first-of-its-kind heated and cooled seating section behind home plate will provide unmatched comfort in major professional sports.

Several areas of the Home Plate Club will have seat climate control, allowing fans to change the temperature of their seats at the push of a button. This is the latest in stadium technology. The Tigers stated in a statement obtained by WXYZ that quick-touch heating and cooling environment technology will be used to give these customizable temps. The opening game of the 2025 season will satisfy fans’ desires for warmer or colder seats, depending on the weather.

These chairs include THERMAVANCETM technology created by Promethient in Traverse City, Michigan, and were designed by Figueras, a company based in Barcelona, Spain. According to Ilitch News Hub, the unique marine-grade vinyl upholstery is designed to reduce UV absorption, keeping the seat surfaces cool on bright days.

There is more to the Home Plate Club than merely sitting. It provides a brand-new area with a private entrance underneath the stands. According to a report by Ilitch News Hub, Ryan Gustafson, President and CEO of Ilitch Sports & Entertainment, promised an experience that showcases “as one of the best premium clubs in the country,” and it is said to have everything from in-seat service to VIP parking to all-inclusive food and beverage options. In addition, there will be Loge Boxes, which will provide semi-private luxury seating and game viewing with a privacy wall that partially encloses the seats.
