A construction site in Weston became the scene of a critical injury this morning when a private contractor was shocked by an underground electrical line.

reported that Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to a medical emergency call around 9:05 a.m. near 2300 Glades Circle.
Upon their arrival, emergency responders found that the contractor had been operating machinery that came into contact with the electrical line. The man, identified as a private contractor, was rushed to a hospital after being critically injured by the resulting electrocution. Operating machinery which may have inadvertently contacted an underground electrical utility line, the initial reports indicated a grave oversight in either the planning or execution of the construction tasks at hand.
After the incident, Air Rescue personnel swiftly moved to transport the injured worker to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale. The condition of the victim has not been publicly updated since the transportation.
