Convicted Felon Arrested with Stolen Firearm and Methamphetamine During Traffic Stop in Vallejo

A routine traffic stop by the Vallejo Police Department on Tennessee Street led to the arrest of an armed felon. Last Wednesday, officers pulled over a black Mercedes-Benz after noticing it lacked a visible license plate, as reported in a recent social media post by the

While the stop was initially for the missing plate, it was found that the vehicle’s registration had been expired for over half a year. This prompted the officers to prepare the car for a mandatory tow, during which they searched the Mercedes. This search resulted in the discovery of a firearm on the passenger floorboard and a substantial quantity of what appeared to be methamphetamine stuffed into a jacket pocket inside the vehicle. The driver, after being read his Miranda rights, admitted to owning the methamphetamine but denied knowledge of the stolen firearm present in his car.

Upon further investigation, the officers conducted a records check, which revealed the driver to be a convicted felon, and the firearm, indeed stolen, traced back to Richmond, CA. The Vallejo Police disclosed that the adult male driver was taken to Solano County Jail following the arrest, where charges related to the possession of narcotics and the illegal firearm await him.
