PHOENIX — A woman has died after a car accident that occurred close to the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix.

According to the police, officers were dispatched to the vicinity of 64th Street and Mayo Boulevard at approximately 4:43 p.m. on Tuesday in response to reports of a collision.

When the officers arrived, they discovered a woman who had sustained severe injuries. Firefighters arrived and attempted to offer treatment to save the woman’s life, but she perished.

The driver of the second vehicle was brought to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The inquiry into the reason of the crash is still ongoing.

The inquiry will result in the closure of all traffic in all directions at the intersection of Mayo Boulevard and 64th Street.
