Crime Stoppers offering reward for information in vandalism at University of Michigan regent’s home

(CBS DETROIT) Following complaints of vandalism at a University of Michigan regent’s residence on Monday, Crime Stoppers is putting up a $6,000 reward for information.

On social media, Regent Jordan Acker posted pictures of his wife’s car with the words “Divest” and “Free Palestine” spray-painted on it, as well as a broken front window of his Oakland County house.

“This is the third time that I and now my family have been the target of these Klan-like tactics,” Ackersaid in the post. “This cowardly act that is attacking my family and my home needs to be called out for what it is: terrorism.” And I will not allow fear to prevail, as we always do in this wonderful country when we face terrorism.”

A reward that could result in an arrest is currently being offered by Crime Stoppers.

Pro-Palestinian demonstrators brought requests to Acker’s and colleague regent Sarah Hubbard’s houses in May. Acker’s Goodman Acker law office in Southfield was vandalized in June. That event was being looked into by police as a hate crime.
