On Saturday night, the Detroit Pistons defeated the New York Knicks 120-111, led by 29 points, 15 assists, and 10 rebounds by Cade Cunningham.
The Pistons ended a three-game losing run with 16 points from Jaden Ivey and 23 points from Malik Beasley, who came off the bench.
Cunningham trailed league leader Nikola Jokic by three after recording his fifth triple-double of the year.
The Knicks ended their four-game winning streak with Mikal Bridges finishing with 20 points and Jalen Brunson finishing with 31 points and 10 assists.
Cam Payne, a reserve, and Karl-Anthony Towns, who was benched because of a painful right knee, were not used by New York. Josh Hart was also benched by the Knicks in the fourth quarter following his second technical foul.
The Knicks outscored Detroit 27-14 in the last 10 minutes of the third quarter to narrow the margin to 89-85 after Detroit had led by 17 points in the third quarter.
Ariel Hukporti’s slam in the first minute of the fourth quarter gave New York the lead. With 7:55 remaining in regulation, the Pistons increased their lead to 103-89 after a 12-2 run and four New York turnovers.
Pistons: Cunningham shot 7 for 11 from the floor, including 5 for 7 from long range, to score 21 points in the first half.
Knicks: Towns was replaced by Jericho Sims, who played just six minutes in the first half without scoring.
During a halftime ceremony on the court, New York paid tribute to several of its past players who were present at the game.
In the first half, Detroit went 13 for 23 beyond the arc and 26 for 46 from the field.
On Monday night, New York travels to Toronto. On Thursday night, Detroit will travel to Boston.
